Royal High - Lesson Protocol

Arriving to Royal High School

Via Car: We have access to the Royal High car park that is located inside the school grounds. This is accessed at the end of the road leading into the school via East Barton Avenue, at the end of the protocol there is a map marking where this is.

Via Bus: Clermiston Drive is the closest bus stop to Royal High School which can be found using the above click here.

Getting to the pool

Access to the pool will be from the Edinburgh Leisure entrance at the back of the school. To get to there from the main car park walk up the slight hill to a set of stairs, follow the path round until you reach the AstroTurf football pitches, again follow the path until you see a small ramp and enter through that door.

Once inside the building follow the corridor down and changing rooms are on the left.

Pre Lesson

Pool changing room 2 is the female change

Pool changing room 1 is the male change

If a participant requires assistance, please use the changing room accordiong to the assissting adult.

Waiting During Lessons

Parents/guardians can take children onto poolside prior to lessons beginning but must not be present on poolside during lesson duration. This is an Edinburgh Leisure policy and as they are let providers it must be adhered to.

During the lesson parents/guardians can wait in the changing rooms.

If the participant needs the toilet during a lesson and needs assistance, the teacher or lifeguard will make you aware so you can take them

Post Lesson

Once lessons are finished children will be escorted to the changing rooms please do not come onto poolside to collect them.

After you are changed please exit the building using the same route you entered.
