Portobello High - Lesson Protocol

Arriving to Portobello High School

Via Car: Access to the school is through the main entrance gates off Milton Road. Do not use any other entrances as gates may become locked during lessons. Park in one of the bays before making your way to the pool, see video linked.

Getting to the pool

Access to the pool will be through the Edinburgh Leisure double doors located down the set of stairs adjacent to the football pitches shown in the video below.

Once inside the building follow the corridor and turn left at the end, follow again until the set of stairs and go up one level. Follow the corridor to the left through a set of double doors to the pool entrance.

Pre Lesson

Get ready in the changing rooms, do not come on to poolside until granted access by the poolside supervisor

You will be granted access to poolside 5 minutes before your lesson start time.

Waiting During Lessons

During lessons there will be no access to poolside. After lessons have started Parents/ Guardians will be asked to leave the to the waiting area where lessons can be observed.

If the participant needs the toilet during a lesson and needs assistance, the teacher or lifeguard will make you aware so you can meet them in the changing room.

Post Lesson

Once lessons are finished participants can be collected at the shower area and escorted to the changing rooms.

After you are changed please exit the building using the same route you entered.
