Learn Bronze Swimming Lessons: Introducing Frontcrawl and Backcrawl

Within the Learn Bronze swimming lessons our teachers are in the water with children and we focus on advancing the skills and confidence gained in Water Confidence, or previous swimming experiences. We also introduce foundational techniques for frontcrawl and backcrawl. This stage is a critical step in your child’s swimming journey, as we aim to establish proper techniques and ensure they feel comfortable and capable in the water.

Key Skills Developed at Learn Bronze:

• Confidence Building: Continued emphasis on developing water confidence, encouraging independence, and enjoying the experience.

• Introduction to Frontcrawl and Backcrawl: Learning basic arm movements and the coordination required for both strokes.

• Kick Development: Frontcrawl and backcrawl kicks performed unaided to strengthen leg movement.

• Breath Control: Practicing frontcrawl with the face in the water to develop      correct breathing techniques.

• Water Safety and Fun Challenges: Jumping into the water independently and returning to the side safely. Collecting objects from shallow water to build  familiarity and ease with aquatic environments.

• Streamline Basics: Introducing the idea of pushing off the wall on both the front and back to promote efficient movement.

Our instructors prioritise teaching proper technique from the start to give children a strong foundation that will benefit them as they progress to more advanced levels. We encourage natural movements by using minimal physical guidance, ensuring that the skills your child learns feel instinctive and sustainable.

Class Options and Structure:
We offer both group and private lessons at this level, with small class sizes to ensure personalised attention. Group lessons are capped at a 4:1 ratio, providing the perfect balance of social interaction and focused instruction.
